The district-wide MLK Central Hall Art Show, a celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life, ideals, and enduring legacy, will remain open through the month of January. Each school contributed unique, meaningful projects inspired by his messages of peace, justice, and unity. Here are just some of the concepts for students' projects:
King Street Elementary, 2nd Grade: Created portraits of Dr. King, incorporating words connected to his life's work to honor his dreams and influence on society.
JFK Elementary, 3rd Grade: Designed "Expressions of Class Community" sculptures, reflecting their identities and family heritage through collaborative projects and personal flags.
Park Avenue Elementary, Kindergarten: Explored the theme of peace by crafting tie-dye peace signs and dove imagery, inspired by Dr. King as a peacemaker.
PC Middle School: Designed vibrant paper mosaics inspired by Dr. King’s "I Have a Dream" speech, emphasizing his commitment to nonviolence and harmony.
PC High School: Submitted artwork showcasing core principles such as peace, cultural understanding, compassion, and resilience, echoing Dr. King's teachings.
