In an evening filled with gratitude, the Port Chester Middle School PTA hosted its first-ever Founder’s Night, centered around the theme of Changemakers. The PTA defined changemakers as individuals who actively work to make a positive impact—those who take creative steps to solve problems and drive meaningful change. These changemakers can be found in classrooms leading innovation, supporting colleagues, and fostering inclusive environments where both students and staff thrive. Through their adaptability and commitment, they set high standards and inspire progress.
The inaugural event paid special tribute to this year’s retirees—Jeannie Iantorno, Linda O’Connor, and Valerie Waldman—celebrating their years of dedication, passion, and influence on generations of students. Heartfelt testimonials honored their legacy and offered a warm (and tearful) sendoff.
In addition to the retirees, six exceptional educators were recognized as changemakers: Stefanie Annunziata, Austin Boehm, Allison Fasano, Laurie Halstead, Heather Gross, and Rebecca Peters. Nominated by their colleagues for their advocacy, mentorship, and inclusive programming., each exemplifies what it means to lead with compassion, integrity, and purpose.
A special acknowledgment was also given to Kristin Pascuzzi and Holly Fannon, who were nominated but declined recognition due to their roles on the Founder’s Night planning committee. Their impact as changemakers, however, did not go unnoticed.
Founder’s Night marked not just a celebration of individual accomplishments, but the launch of a meaningful new tradition—one that honors the strength, spirit, and service of the Port Chester Middle School community.
