Voter Registration

Registration of qualified voters of the District will take place on Monday, May 13, 2024, between the hours of 2:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. in the office of the District Clerk located in the Port Chester Middle School, 113 Bowman Avenue.

Voting Requirements

In order to register to vote, you must:

  • Be a U.S. Citizen
  • Be 18 years of age by the date of the general, primary or other election in which you want to vote.
  • Live at your present address at least 30 days before an election.
  • Not be in prison or on parole for a felony conviction.
  • Not claim the right to vote elsewhere.

Absentee Ballot Application (Vote Request by Mail)

If you are unable to vote in person on May 21, 2024, you must submit an absentee ballot application available here. You may submit an early mail ballot application available here. Contact the District Clerk's office at 914-934-7900 or via email to have an application mailed to you.

Absentee Ballot applications must be completed by the person requesting the ballot and received by mail or in-person at the office of the District Clerk by 2:00 PM on May 13, 2024 if the ballot is to be mailed or by 4:00 PM on Monday, May 20, 2024 if the Ballot is to be delivered personally. Absentee Ballot and Early Voting applications can also be returned by mail, send to Cathy Maggi, District Clerk, P.O. Box 246, Port Chester, NY 10573. 

Absentee and Early Voting Ballots must be returned by 5:00 PM on May 21, 2024.

 

Election & Budget Vote 2024

School Board Election and Budget vote will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Qualified voters will vote in-person for this election and budget vote. Click here to view Election Districts.

 

Budget Hearing

A Budget Hearing of the qualified voters of the Port Chester School District, Westchester County, Port Chester, New York, will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at 7:00 p.m. A recording of the hearing will be available on the district website.

 

Voting Date

School board election and budget vote will take place on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.

 

Manner of Voting

Qualified voters will vote in person for this election and budget vote. A qualified voter is:

  • Citizen of the United States
  • At least 18 Years of Age
  • Resident of School District At Least 30 Days Prior to Vote

 

Notice of Vacancy on Board of Education

The Port Chester School District is seeking candidates to fill two (2) vacant seats on the Board of Education, as follows: two seats for three (3) year term commencing July 1, 2024 and expiring on June 30, 2027, to succeed Sharon Burke and Lou Russo whose terms expire June 30, 2024. 

A school board candidate must be a U.S. Citizen, at least 18 years old, a qualified voter in the District and able to read and write. They must be a resident of the District and cannot be employed by the District. They also cannot live in the same household with a family member who is also a current member of the Board.

Individuals interested in running for the school board must complete and submit their signed nominating petition form to the District Clerk no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, April 22, 2024. Los votantes calificados votarán en persona por esta elección y por el presupuesto. Un votante calificado debe:

Si usted no puede votar en persona el 21 de mayo de 2024, debe de enviar su solicitud de voto por correo disponible (aquí). Puede enviar una solicitud de boleta anticipada por correo disponible (aquí). Comuníquese con la Secretaría del Distrito Escolar al 914-934-7900 o email para que una solicitud sea enviada por correo a su domicilio.

Las solicitudes de voto por correo deben y solicitudes de boleta anticipada por correo de ser completada por el solicitante y recibido por correo o en persona en la Oficina de la Secretaria del Distrito Escolar antes de la 2:00pm del 13 de mayo de 2024 o antes de las 4:00 p.m. del lunes 20 de mayo de 2024 si la boleta se entregará en persona. Las solicitudes de boleta de voto ausente también se pueden devolver por correo y Votación anticipada, enviar a Cathy Maggi, District Clerk, P.O. Box 246, Port Chester, NY 10573.

Aviso de vacante en la Junta de Educación

El Distrito Escolar de Port Chester está buscando candidatos para llenar dos (2) puestos vacantes en la Junta de Educación, de la siguiente manera: dos puestos por un período de tres (3) años que comienza el 1 de julio de 2024 y finaliza el 30 de junio de 2027, para suceder a Sharon Burke y Lou Russo cuyos mandatos vencen el 30 de junio de 2024.

Un candidato a la junta escolar debe ser ciudadano estadounidense, tener al menos 18 años de edad, ser un votante calificado en el Distrito y saber leer y escribir. Deben ser residentes del Distrito y no pueden ser empleados del Distrito. Tampoco pueden vivir en el mismo hogar con un miembro de la familia que también es miembro actual de la Junta.

Las personas interesadas en postularse para la junta escolar deben completar y enviar su formulario de petición de nominación firmado al secretario del distrito a más tardar a las 5:00 p.m. el lunes 22 de abril de 2024.
