On June 6, Port Chester Middle School’s eighth-grade musicians earned top honors at the Music in the Parks festival—an immersive, daylong event held in New England, Massachusetts. The festival combines morning adjudications by expert judges with an afternoon of fun at a partner amusement park, concluding with a celebratory awards ceremony.
- The 8th Grade String Orchestra, under the direction of Mary Porcaro, earned 1st Place with a Superior rating—the highest distinction awarded.
- The 8th Grade Chorus, led by Mark Zizolfo, also took 1st Place, receiving an Excellent rating.
