Beginning on the first day of the 2024-25 school year, an after school program facilitated by the Carver Center, a long-standing district partner, will be offered to students at all four elementary schools.
Running until 5:30 p.m. each day, the program will have a yearly $100 supply fee per child. The cost is supplemented due to a variety of grants, including 2.4 million from New York State's RECOVS Learning Loss Grant. Pre-registration forms were shared with families this summer. If the demand is high, a lottery will be held.
Opportunities for this year's program will include academic elements such as literacy and math support, homework assistance, social-emotional learning, and enrichment activities. Additionally, there will be time allocated for physical activities, outdoor play, and the popular ‘snupper’ meal.
