Park Avenue Elementary School third graders have been learning about the weather as part of an after-school program in bilingual teacher Fiorella Cruz’s class. Throughout their lessons, they identified the four seasons and used full sentences to describe if the weather was cloudy, snowy, rainy or sunny. They also participated in hands-on activities, including coloring, labeling and singing, that further solidified their knowledge.

“My goal is for the students to familiarize themselves with the concepts of weather using description and identification,” Cruz said. “The Smart Board allows us to include a tactile element in the process.”
