Clarification Regarding Social Media Post – No Credible Threat

Announcement graphic. thumbnail266207
Dear Ramily:

As always, the safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. Last night, we shared a message following a recommendation from our Security Coordinator and our local law enforcement partners.

A social media post circulating with a Port Chester name or tag was identified as a potential “swatting” incident. Police have since determined that the post originated from out of state. While there is no credible or specific threat, we are committed to exercising an abundance of caution whenever the safety of our school community is in question.

We are deeply grateful to our police partners for their continued presence and support across our schools and community. We also extend a special thank you to our Security Coordinator, Michael Dowd, for his vigilance and swift action during situations like this.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Port Chester Police Department and the Rye Brook Police Department, and the FBI has been notified.

Thank you for your continued understanding and cooperation. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out.
