A Letter from the Superintendent

Dear Ramily,

As we reflect on our commitment to the core principles of the My Brother’s Keeper and My Sister’s Keeper philosophy, I want to reaffirm our unwavering dedication to ensuring that every child in our district is not only prepared for college but also equipped to pursue successful career paths. This week’s Ram Gram highlights the various opportunities we provide our students as they prepare for life beyond Port Chester High School.

Recently, our students had the privilege of visiting college campuses and meeting with distinguished leaders, including the New York State Chancellor, the Commissioner of Education, and Senator Shelley Mayer. These experiences are invaluable in broadening their horizons and inspiring aspirations for higher education and diverse career paths.

In addition, our students have engaged in hands-on, career-focused experiences that expose them to multiple professional possibilities. These opportunities are instrumental in fostering a sense of readiness and excitement as they consider their futures. I am proud to share that the Port Chester School District is among the first in the region to introduce elementary and middle school students to college campuses and career-oriented experiences. Kudos to our dedicated guidance team—Dr. Maeva Rich Kennedy, Mr. Sotherden—and the many staff members who helped make these impactful experiences possible.

I’m also excited to introduce our new pen pal initiative, a collaborative effort resulting from my partnership with the Superintendent of Blind Brook-Rye Schools. This initiative is designed to build bridges between our communities, allowing students to connect, learn from one another, and gain a broader understanding of the world around them. Through this partnership, we are committed to expanding perspectives and enriching opportunities for all our students.

As you read this week’s Ram Gram, I hope you feel the “PC Pride” that unites us in the meaningful work we do each day. Together, we are shaping a bright and promising future for every student in the Port Chester School District.

Thank you for your continued support and dedication to our community.

Sincerely,

Dr. Aurelia Henriquez
Superintendent of Schools
