Greetings Ramily,
It is hard to believe that this is already the February edition of our Ram Gram! As we dive into another busy month, I am reminded of the vibrant energy that fills our schools and the many exciting events that unfold within our community.
Recently, World Read Aloud Day at King Street School, John F. Kennedy School, and Thomas A. Edison School was nothing short of inspirational. From school-based musicals to engaging literacy walks, we witnessed firsthand the joy of reading and its power to unite us in a shared love for literacy. A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated teachers, staff, and leaders for their tireless efforts in making these experiences magical. A special thank you to Ms. Chrissie Onofrio, Board President, and Mr. George Ford, Board Trustee, for joining us for World Read Aloud Day!

I am also thrilled to introduce our new PC Connect initiative, designed to ensure that every member of our community stays informed about important updates, including this newsletter. We encourage you to share this resource widely with your neighbors and friends, especially those who may not have children in our schools. Our goal is to see hundreds sign up for PC Connect, fostering a more connected community.

Additionally, I want to express my gratitude to all community members who have come together to enhance our athletic programs. A special thanks to our Athletic Director, Mr. James Ryan, and our dedicated coaches for their commitment to our collective improvement. Mr. Ryan has spearheaded an athletic survey, which emerged from our collective discussions regarding the need for more skills clinics at the elementary level.
We value your input, so please take a moment to complete the survey linked below. Your feedback is crucial as we strive to make informed decisions that benefit our students’ athletic experiences.

As we continue these discussions, I invite anyone interested to reach out to me. Your voice is important, and I will ensure you are included in my roundtable discussions. I will also share your desire to help with the Board of Education for upcoming committee discussions.
In closing, I want to emphasize the importance of collaboration and partnership within our community. It can be easy to fall into the habit of negativity or blame. However, just like the values we strive to instill in our children, it is essential that we all work together as part of the solution. I encourage each of you to remain engaged and contribute to our mission of continuous improvement. During challenging times, our unwavering focus will continue to be our students. Our mission has always been and will always remain #SuccessForAll. We are committed to ensuring that our schools remain a safe haven for all students to learn and grow to their full potential.
Over the last three years and eight months, we have made significant strides in enhancing the safety of our school buildings. There are comprehensive protocols in place designed to ensure the wellbeing of both students and staff. We will steadfastly stay true to our mission and goals.
Thank you for your continued dedication and commitment to our students' success. Together, we will navigate these times and emerge even stronger.
With gratitude,
Dr. Aurelia Henriquez
Superintendent of Schools
