Eight students from Port Chester High School have been selected to perform in New York State School Music Association’s (NYSSMA) Area All-State ensembles on November 2-3. They are among a group of talented performers from across Westchester County who will be participating.

With more than 600 applicants at last year’s audition, the students were chosen for their proficiency, accuracy, and exceptional skills across band, orchestra, and chorus.

Representing Port Chester High School at the Area All-State Festival are:

* Casey Schultz (Concert Band, Clarinet, Grade 12)
* Lucia Giordano (Concert Band, Alto Saxophone, Grade 12)
* Kevin Barrios (Concert Band, Euphonium, Grade 12)
* Camilo Mamani (Symphony Orchestra, Trumpet, Grade 12)
* Katherine Condori (Chorus, Grade 10)
* Jordan Rivera (Chorus, Grade 11)
* Mariangel Osorio (Chorus, Grade 11)
* Diego Vega (Chorus, Grade 11)

In preparation for their performances, the students will attend rehearsals and work with distinguished conductors, as well as other young musicians from across the region. According to Band Director Isaac Schneider and Music Teacher Jonathan Pereira, it is sure to be a transformative experience.

“Area All-State is a unique experience that honors students' musicianship and their dedication to our craft,” said Schneider. “The opportunity to participate in these ensembles is a testament to the power of music; musicians coming together across many communities to enhance their artistry. It’s been an honor to work with these students, and I cannot wait to see their continued growth as the concert nears!”

“I am incredibly proud of our choir students who were accepted into Area All-State,” Pereira said. “Their dedication, talent, and hard work have truly paid off, and this accomplishment reflects their love for music and commitment to excellence. I can't wait to see them shine on this next stage!”

Please join us in congratulating the Area All-State winners, as well as the district’s Music Department, for nurturing the students' success and passion for music.
