Port Chester Public Schools

Dear Members of the Port Chester Community,

The Port Chester Board of Education has board advisory committees that provide opportunities for participation and feedback in the 2024-2025 academic year. If you are interested in serving on any committee, please contact the District Clerk, by October 10, 2024, at cmaggi@portchesterschools.org. Each group will be expected to meet at least two times this year.

Committees-
• Community Partners- Help foster relationships, connection, and trust leading to meaningful discourse and review and revise draft of community engagement plan. Community and school Partners will be invited to the conversation. (2 community members needed)
• Audit- Oversee and report to the Board of Education on the annual audit and assist with understanding and implementing Corrective Action Plans. (2 community members needed)
• Multi-Lingual Learner (MLL) Program Committee- Continue to explore strategies and pathways regarding the multilingual language learner programs and examine existing procedures and practices regarding screening, testing, and shared information.
• Facilities (Buildings and Grounds) Planning- Review current plans and identify areas in need of improvement. Review priorities and Buildings Condition Survey to assist with planning for the future. (One community member from each school)
• Health, Wellness and Safety- Review current data and work to ensure that best practices are implemented. (One community member from each school)
• Ethics- 3 community members to be appointed and called upon as needed by the Board of Education.
• SRO – Continued work with the Rye Brook SRO and will now include the Port Chester SRO.
