Welcome back to Staff Spotlight, a new series featuring the district's faculty and staff.

For this installment, we spoke with Veronica Ruggiero and Stephanie Rubenfeld, instructional technology specialists for grades 6-12 and K-5.

Tell us about your journey to the district and your current role.

V: My journey to the district has been incredibly fulfilling. I currently serve as an Instructional Technology Specialist for grades 6-12, where I focus on integrating technology into our educational practices. In this role, I work closely with educators to provide training and support, ensuring they have the necessary resources to enhance their instruction. Additionally, I provide support for digital assessment and tools for data analysis to help teachers and staff gain valuable insights into student learning and progress. I worked as a data security analyst and system administrator in the corporate sector before making the transition to education.

S: Currently, I serve as an Instructional Technology Specialist for grades K-5, where I help teachers integrate technology into their classrooms to enhance student learning. In addition, I support computer-based testing, build data analysis tools to help teachers better understand student performance, troubleshoot tech issues, review new classroom tools, and provide professional development to ensure effective technology use in the classroom. Prior to this, I spent seven years as a technology teacher, which sparked my passion for supporting educators. I also held the role of assistant principal, gaining leadership experience that has been invaluable in my current position.

What/Who inspired you to pursue a career in education?

V: My son and daughter have been my greatest inspirations for transitioning from the corporate world to a career in education. They represent the hope of a brighter future and motivate me to make a meaningful impact on the next generation.

S: My mom, who recently retired after a long career as a teacher, has always been my biggest role model and inspiration. Her passion for teaching, dedication to her students, and the impact she made in their lives motivated me to pursue a career in education.

What do you love most about PC schools?
