The Port Chester Sound, our high school’s select choral ensemble, had the extraordinary opportunity to perform with the world-renowned classic rock band Foreigner during their concerts at The Capitol Theatre this week. The experience placed students center stage alongside legendary musicians in one of Port Chester’s most iconic venues.

The invitation came directly from John Lappen, Marketing Director for Foreigner, who personally reached out to Port Chester High School. As part of the band’s longstanding commitment to supporting music education, Foreigner invites high school choirs across North America to join them in performing their chart-topping hit, “I Want to Know What Love Is.” Over the past 18 years, more than 800 school choirs have taken part, and this year the tradition proudly continued with our own talented students.

For members of the Port Chester Sound, the experience was truly unforgettable. Performing in a professional concert setting, collaborating with world class artists, and sharing their voices with a sold out audience offered a powerful reminder of how music can inspire, uplift, and bring people together.

This opportunity underscores the excellence of Port Chester’s music program and the dedication of our student musicians, who embraced the moment with professionalism, heart, and a little bit of rock and roll.
