Port Chester Middle School student Joel Magaña has been selected as this year’s Lions Club Peace Poster Contest winner. His artwork, created in Allison Fasano’s class, will now advance to the International Competition, where the global winner will be announced at the United Nations this spring.

The Lions Club Peace Poster Contest is an annual worldwide competition that invites students ages 11–13 to creatively express their vision of peace. Each year, hundreds of thousands of students from more than 200 countries participate, using art to promote global understanding, cultural connection, and meaningful dialogue about the future. Winning artwork is recognized internationally and stands as a powerful reminder of the role young people play in shaping a more peaceful world.

Congratulations are also in order for our talented runners-up: Juan Guezade, Luke Petriello, and Edguardo Lemus.

This accomplishment highlights Joel’s exceptional creativity and the dedication of our PCMS art educators, who inspire students to express themselves through thoughtful and meaningful artistic work. Congratulations to all of our young artists!
