The International Thespian Society and Tri-M Music Honor Society recently hosted the Fourth Annual Murder Mystery Fundraiser at Port Chester High School, turning the cafeteria into a Gatsby-inspired scene straight out of the Roaring ’20s for a night filled with mystery, laughter, and community connection.
This annual event has become a highlight of the school year, combining performance, creativity, and collaboration to raise funds in support of Port Chester’s theater and music programs. Students, families, staff, and community members were invited to don their best vintage 1920s attire and immerse themselves in the glamorous yet mysterious world of flappers, jazz, and suspenseful storytelling.
Each guest received a character description and name tag upon arrival before stepping into the game’s three rounds: The Exposition, where participants mingled and introduced their characters; Corroboration of Evidence, where clues began to unfold; and Unveiling Theories, where everyone worked together to solve the mystery.
Throughout the evening, guests also enjoyed themed refreshments, took photos, and supported the fundraiser by purchasing raffle tickets and merchandise. The Orchestra Club performed live music to enhance the 1920s ambiance, adding an extra layer of excitement to the evening.
Now in its fourth year, the Murder Mystery Fundraiser continues to grow in both attendance and creativity, offering students the opportunity to showcase their performance skills while uniting the community for an unforgettable night of entertainment and support for the arts.
