Dear Port Chester Ramily,

This morning, I received the heartbreaking news that no school district leader ever wishes to hear. Over the weekend, a tragic accident claimed the life of one of our beloved high school students. Family members were also in the car at the time of the tragedy.

Our hearts and prayers are with the family during this unimaginably difficult time. Please know that we are here to offer compassion and support. As we await further details, I felt it was important to reach out and remind our community of the strength that comes from standing together in moments of sorrow.

In response to this tragedy, grief counseling and support services will be available for our students, the family, and staff members who may need assistance. We encourage anyone in need to reach out. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions, needs, or concerns.

It is in times like these that we must unite as one family—supporting one another, standing strong together, and honoring the memory of our student.

Sincerely,

Dr. Aurelia Henriquez
Superintendent of Schools
