Last Saturday, 121 Port Chester Middle School music students in grades 6 through 8 showcased their talents in a unique and exciting setting during the Bridgeport Islanders vs. Pittsburgh Bruins hockey game. Performing before a packed arena, students from the band and chorus brought school spirit and musical excellence to the event.
Members of the band energized the crowd during the first intermission with a confident and spirited performance of the patriotic classic “Yankee Doodle.” Chorus students followed during the second intermission with a moving rendition of “Land That We Love / America the Beautiful,” earning enthusiastic applause from fans in attendance.
This special opportunity allowed students to perform beyond the traditional concert stage, helping to build confidence, teamwork, and pride in their accomplishments. For many, appearing at a professional sporting event marked a memorable milestone and highlighted the powerful role of the arts in connecting schools with the broader community.
The performance reflected the strength of the Port Chester Middle School music program and the district’s commitment to providing enriching, real-world experiences that support student growth and creativity. It was a proud moment for students, staff, families, and the entire Ram community.
